Ramadhan Special 2: Tater Salad

This is an original recipe.

Yes, Lily. I can cook too.

This is something very simple to do that kids also love and is practically a fit-every-occasion dish. You can also store it in the fridge and eat it up later as a meal or as a snack. It goes well with ...

1. A barbeque
2. A steak/broiled chicken dinner
3. A movie on TV
4. Other Buka puasa dishes
5. Breakfast things except cereal
6. After-sex play ... just remember to also feed your partner, don't hog the whole thing!
7. Sandwiches - all kinds

==================================
Okay. Part 1 - preparing the taters (potatos)
(Kentang. "Taters" ni cakap slang england)

1 kg Potatos, pick your choice - Dutch Red, Idaho, Indon standard etc
Some Salt
A Lot of Water

Boil potatos in water.

Add some salt - a couple of pinches will do.

Boil till cooked. Leave to cool.

Peel cooled taters.
If you had chosen young spring potatoes with very thin skins, then no need to peel lah.

Cut to bite-sized bits.

Put in refrigerator (fridge).

==================================
Part 2 - adding the Greens ... and the Reds (the optional extras)

Choose any combination from the following:

One or two or all of these
Green Onions,
chopped
Red Onions,
chopped
Dutch Onions,
chopped

One or two or more or all of these

Cherry tomatoes,
chopped
Tomatoes,
chopped

One of these

Button Mushrooms,
steamed/boiled/chopped
Shiitake mushrooms,
steamed/boiled/chopped

One or more of these

Some common/purple/red cabbage,
chopped into fine long strips
Spring onions,
chopped finely

Recommendation: I normally keep it simple - tomatoes and red onions with a bit of spring onions as garnish.

=========================================
Part 3: The saucy cream (dripping with sinful pleasures)

This is the crucial and saucy part.

2-3 parts of mayonnaise
1 part Thousand Island sauce.
Mix and adjust accordingly.
Store in container in fridge.
=======================================
Part 4: Finis

I recommend:

1. Mix the cool/cold potatoes with the various ingredients in Part 2
2. Serve, then pour the sauce on individual servings
3. Obviously for serving sit-down meals

Or you can,

1. Mix everything up - potatoes, greens/reds/sauce
2. Put everything in a container.
3. Put container in fridge
4. Dole out from container in whatever portions, whenever you feel hungry.

=========================================
Do try out the recipes I give here. Yes, I'm a foul-mouthed sex maniac with Gooner loyalties but I can also cook, a bit.

ttg,

Is this an invitation to a 4-some?

I've never been to one. What should I wear?

Lily,

I'm pretty positive that a bit of tongue (aspic?) will make you swoon in ecstasy. Care for a taster?

skiver,

It was some time before I jadi gooner. Masa I was a young boy, never read all those soccer magazines like Shoot! or Score (these sound like pr0n mags now, kan?). I knew these only when I was recruited into the aryan malay ranks. At first heran apsal budak melayu minat bola mat salleh :)

That time on RTM(!) kalau ada footie match would feature teams like Walsall, Colchester, Stockport etc. Boring giler. Lagi syok tengok Supermokh & the Malaysian team. Lawan Korea and Japan mesti menang, sapa tak nak follow ...?

And the first team I minat was actually Derby County - they had a few England players (Colin Todd, David Nish) plus the England captain at that time Roy McFarland.

And they were champs in 1973/74 season. But never saw them play on the telly. Tengok gambar kat magazine jer (antara magazine2 yg kitorang study la ...)

After that I jatuh hati kat Liam Brady & gang in 78/79. Sampai sekarang tak tengok lain dah ...
