Hangovers

Jens Lehmann, Arsenal's goalkeeper, could be in trouble for allegedly kicking a water bottle into the crowd in the 1-0 win over Manchester United. The incident is supposed to have occurred after Lehmann received treatment following a fierce shot from Cristiano Ronaldo that he took full in the face. Greater Manchester Police said last night: "Officers are investigating an allegation and inquiries are ongoing. We have received one complaint."

Arsène Wenger attempted to draw a line under the Ashley Cole affair last night when he asked Arsenal's fans not to sing homophobic songs about their former player. Away supporters at Old Trafford on Sunday chanted anti-Cole songs and Wenger made it clear he did not approve. "At Arsenal we want to ban any songs that contain bad words," he said. "We don't want anything like this to happen again."

Arsenal's fans have now changed the words of the Chelsea song 'Ten men went to mow' to taunt the left-back.
